Worker Dies in Hospital Boiler System Crawl Space

Concord, MA – OSHA is investigating the case of a worker who died Wednesday while working in a crawl space in Emerson Hospital’s boiler system.

Emergency officials at the Concord Fire Department responded to a call to administer emergency assistance to the victim, in conjunction with the Emergency Department staff of the hospital.

The identity of the 46-year old worker has not been revealed. This case has been referred to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner who will determine the cause of death.

OSHA will determine whether or not there were any violations of workplace safety standards in connection with this incident.
