TX Construction Worker Killed, 1 Wounded in Water Tower Accident

Porter, TX – At least one worker was killed and another person was injured Friday in a construction accident at a water tower in Porter.

Contractors with Phoenix Fabricators, a national company based in Avon, Indiana, according to its website, had been working to erect a 150-foot, 50,000-gallon water storage tank when the accident occurred.

Authorities said apparently a piece of side-wall broke free and landed on the crew inside the well.

Porter Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Pamphil,  said that emergency crews found one person pinned under a large piece of metal. The other person was taken to a hospital. His condition was not immediately known.

Two other workers escaped uninjured, officials said.
