The 2018 American Trucking Associations Safety, Security & Human Resources National Conference & Exhibition (SSHRNCE)  takes place Nov 12-14 in Long Beach, CA.

The Exhibition is a combined ATA Safety Management Council and ATA Transportation Security Council event, covering critical topics in trucking safety, security, human resources and claims, and loss prevention.

This year’s program will cover such topics as:

  • The Defensible Driver;
  • Health and Wellness, and Its Impact on Driver Recruitment and Retention;
  • Detecting Vehicle-Borne IEDs;
  • The Legal Aspects and Pitfalls of Video and other Safety Technologies used in Accident Investigations, Reconstruction, and Court Cases; and
  • Workplace Violence in the Trucking Industry: Preventative Best Practices, the Employer’s Responsibilities Under the Law, and the Roles Played by HR and Security.

Trucking is a high-risk profession, and according to the Truckers Report, as many as 600 truckers are killed on the job every year. The fatalities and injuries involved with trucking stem from vehicle collisions and fuel fires.

However, long-term health problems linked to fume inhalations and circulation problems also make trucking dangerous.
