Recent active shooter incidents in Pittsburgh, PA, and in Thousand Oaks, CA, have underscored the need for a coordinated response by law enforcement and others to save lives.
Essentially, you have 3 options – to RUN, HIDE, and FIGHT.
The US Department of Homeland Security defines an active shooter as “an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area; in most cases, there is no pattern or method to their selection of victims.
The SUN News team went to Moorpark College, Moorpark, CA in June of this year, to cover an active shooter response training exercise by the Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD).
