Earlier this year, the Administration proposed the GROW AMERICA Act, a six-year transportation reauthorization proposal transmitted to Congress that provides increased and stable funding for our nation’s highways, bridges, transit, and rail systems.
The GROW AMERICA Act will allow States and local governments to effectively plan and start construction on projects that will support millions of good paying jobs over the next several years and improve our economy and global competitiveness.
However, instead of approving the bill, Congress has passed the 34th short-extension “patch” of the Highway Trust Fund, which will run out before the end of the year.
Anthony Fox, the Department of Transportation (DOT) Secretary, is fighting to pass the six year, $478 billion long-term highway plan that would repair our roads and expand transportation to meet growing demands.
Secretary Fox is asking the public for assistance in this critical bill, by contacting your state representative in Congress.
