CHARLESTON, S.C. — The US Coast Guard came to the rescue of a 48-year-old man Sunday 20 miles east of St. Catherines Island, Georgia.
The crew of the 41-foot fishing vessel Scat II stated the man – a passenger – was suffering from shortness of breath.
A Coast Guard Station Tybee Island 45-foot Response Boat – Medium crew launched at 10:14 a.m. with EMS onboard.
The RBM crew arrived on scene at 11:00 a.m. and transported the man to Station Tybee Island where EMS were waiting.
EMS transported the man to Memorial University Medical Center for further medical treatment.
