HARTFORD, Conn. — A construction worker is in critical condition after a brick fell and hit him in the head on Wednesday morning.
Hartford Fire units were called to 390 Capitol Avenue at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday for a construction worker who suffered a head injury. When they arrived, they found a man on the ground, unconscious.
Firefighters learned that a brick had fallen from the roof area of the four-story building, striking the worker in the head.
The worker was taken to Hartford Hospital where his condition is described as “extremely critical.”
The developers, Dakota Partners Inc., of Waltham, Mass., began work on the building about two weeks ago, even though last-minute snags in a financing package held up a closing until late Tuesday.
Representatives from OSHA remained on the scene to continue the investigation.
